Typical domestic drives are dug out to a minimum depth of 225mm (9”). We then lay stabilising geo textile matting over the excavated area. This increases the strength of the drive and also extends the life of the drive too. Then we lay the sub base ,(to the desired falls), a 125mm layer of well compacted type 1 road stone which gives a strong base to build upon. Any drain covers are then set to correct heights before we lay the blocks upon a bed of marine washed sharp sand or ecosand. (Edge blocks are retained using concrete.) The blocks are then compacted and joints filled with kiln dried sand.

Before you choose a contractor be sure to get a quote from us. We will provide you with a superior job that's also guaranteed and at very competitive rates.
Whatever style of block you require, from the standard rectangular blocks to the ever popular ‘tumbled’ style we can provide it for you.. Samples and brochures can be provided to help you decide and we will be on hand should you require any help.
Remember your drive is only as good as the base it is built on! Our drives are built to last ! So please don’t get taken in by the man who comes door knocking; sure he will beat us on price and it may well look good as he is driving away, but within 6 months time it will probably look shabby and within 5 years probably need redoing!

Many people disregard block paving because they are worried about weeds or staining. This is not a problem any more. By using a resin sealer on your new drive, weed growth is I inhibited and the blocks are protected against oil spills and staining. Protect your drive from as llittle as £2 m2 + VAT.

We also undertake the following surfaces and are happy to provide you with a quote for:
Tarmac
Shingle
Bonded gravel
